Children and youths

Your child deserves the best support delivered by caring, patient and kind support workers who want the best for them as well.

You can rest assured our team of support workers want to see your child thrive and enjoy their childhood, that’s why we place children with only our most experienced support workers.

Our team is highly experienced in delivering support to children from ages 9 through to 17, living with Autism (ASD), and mental health challenges including self-harm, intellectual disabilities, and cerebral palsy.

Some of the ways
we can assist your child

  • Community inclusion, helping them to engage with their community.
  • Facilitating sport or recreational activities, like swimming lessons, horse riding or cooking classes.
  • For teenagers, we’ll teach them daily life skills such as how to catch public transport.
  • We can also support the child’s efforts to obtain a work placement or volunteer position.

Every kid deserves the chance to explore their interests, and we’d love to help them achieve, learn, and grow.

FAQ

What’s the process for receiving supports from Helping Solutions?

Fill out our referral form and select the supports you’re after (e.g. daily living, Respite, etc.), and our team will be in touch to discussion your individual needs and explore options.

Can I adjust or cancel supports if my child’s plans change?

Yes, if something comes up you can contact your coordinator to cancel or reschedule your child’s supports for that day.

Can I choose my child’s support worker or request a change if needed?

We are open to feedback and do our best to accommodate requests from our participants.

In extreme circumstances such as you experiencing a major issue or personality clash with a support worker, we will always endeavour to find you a better match.

Are your support workers trained in specific areas?

Yes, all of our support workers receive training from our nursing team, so they can assist with routine care needs alongside daily living and community access supports.

Am I eligible for support?

Having an NDIS Plan is a required pre-requisite to accessing Helping Solutions supports and services.

What if my child is already receiving supports from Helping Solutions or other providers?

You can still apply for other supports, but we encourage you to discuss this with your child’s Support Coordinator or Early Childhood Partner to ensure you’re maximising the supports in your plan.

How can I provide feedback or raise concerns about my care?

Feedback is very important to us, and we want our participants to feel that they can raise any concerns at any time. If you have feedback or concerns to share, please complete our Feedback and Complaints Form.
