The Assembly: Now casting for Season 2

The Assembly: Now casting for Season 2

We are excited to see that The Assembly is coming back for a second season.

The show first premiered in August 2024 with an overwhelmingly positive response, showcasing a group of Autistic journalism students being mentored by Leigh Sales (journalist with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation) as they interview well known Australian personalities.

The first season aired 7 episodes, where personalities such as Hamish Blake, Sam Neill, Deltra Goodrem, Amanda Kellar, and even Prime Minister Anthony Albanese were interviewed by the group.

The Assembly gives you an insider look into the lives of these students, where their passions and interests come from.

Abbey shares her photographic memory from various concerts and musicals she’s seen, and how this positions her with an excellent journalistic advantage. She also shares her dream to be a host on playschool and how she believes children will love watching someone in a wheelchair.

Dale shares how he used to spend up to 22 hours in his room gaming due to lack of confidence and being told by teachers that he can’t achieve anything. He’s now been attending acting classes for 3 years which has built his confidence and desire to become an actor.

Anastasia shares her passion for cartoons and her deep desire to be a voice actor, demonstrating her talent for unique voices on the spot.

Stephanie shares that she has made a variety of short films and would love to pursue a career where she gets to direct, produce, edit or do camera work.

Angus shares his established career as a local radio host, and his deeper desire to pivot into sports commentary and reporting at a larger studio such as ABC Sport.

For each of these individuals, this opportunity has helped them to develop their communication skills, ask incredible questions, build their confidence and see where their interests could take them.

The show itself is refreshing due to the disarming and emotional nature of the questions asked, offering a truly authentic interview experience for each media personality that is shaped by each interviewer’s unique approach to journalism.

We love the wonderful portrayal of autism in the show and the heartfelt experiences shared on screen.

If you think you’d be a great fit for The Assembly, or know someone who would love this opportunity, casting for Season 2 is happening now. Click here to learn more and apply.
